Learning to sew is a real life engineering and construction project for guys and girls. Clinical studies have found that students who learned to sew a simple project showed elevated creativity after the activity. Sewing projects foster mastery by learning to operate a sewing machine or serger, sew a straight seam and smooth curves, construct casings, sleeves and buttonholes; belonging by being part of a group; independence by learning skills that can be used throughout life; and generosity by sharing sewn items with others.

4-H Sewing Club meetings begin in January and continue throughout the spring.
